The Inlet
My inner child is cleansed by her tidal dance. An untethered sense of exploration and wonder wash over me. Meandering, I meet her many moods and incarnations. Exploring her salt encrusted arms as they wind their twisted ways through the tangle of her mud lined coat. I sacrifice another pair of shoes to her moist embrace. I dive in, cross her breadth and am rapidly swept towards the crashing boundary where she merges with what she is but a sheltered part. I always promise to return. I make plans to know her more completely. She sparkles at night. Millions of phosphorescent reminders that rekindle the spark within. As I trace her shifting boundaries and sink into her depths, I realise that she is truly boundless. Her secrets are not mine to know. This won’t stop me coming back, ready and waiting, for whatever it is she chooses to share.
