Our Friends of the Library groups support our libraries through fundraising, advocacy, volunteering and organising programs. This benefits us and our community by enhancing our library services on offer.
From the 29th of January to the 10th of February, our Friends of the Mirboo North Library (FOMNL) group took on duties at their local community op shop. All profits made from any items purchased during their time would go straight back into their FOMNL program.
During this two-week period, the FOMNL group raised over $3,000 and as a result, they will use a portion of this to generously donate 10 silent disco headsets to the Mirboo North Library.
Silent disco headsets are often used in environments where traditional speakers are impractical or where noise restrictions are in place. They enable users to listen to the same audio collectively or to different tracks individually while engaging in the same event.
These headsets can be used during library movie screenings, making the sessions more accessible for patrons who can choose their own volume. Additionally, they will be a valuable asset for Mirboo North’s regular homeschool groups.
We’re so grateful to our Friends of the Library groups and appreciate all of the hard work they put in to improve our library services.
