Neerim South Library Hours – FAQs

Neerim South Library Hours – FAQs

As of Monday 6 October, the Neerim South Library will be adjusting their opening hours to comply with Child Safety protocols. To help answer any questions you may have about this change, we have prepared the following Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What are the new opening hours?

The new opening hours will be:

    Friday: 3.30pm – 6.00pm

    Saturday: 9.30am – 12.30pm

We’re pleased to offer an additional hour on Saturdays, helping to make the library more accessible to the community on weekends.

  • When will this change come into effect?

The updated Neerim South Library hours will take effect from Monday 6 October, to coincide with the start of Term 4.

  • Why are the opening hours changing?

The Neerim South Library will be making some changes to its opening hours to comply with Child Safety protocols. As a result, Neerim District Secondary College is unable to allow members of the public on school grounds during school hours unless they hold a valid Working with Children Check. Understandably, this is challenging for the school to manage on a regular basis. As a result, the library’s opening hours have been adjusted to fall outside of school hours.

  • What if I have a Working with Children Check (WWCC)?

Unfortunately, public access is still restricted during school hours, even with a WWCC. This policy ensures the safety and privacy of students and aligns with Neerim District Secondary College’s guidelines.

  • Can I see the Child Safety policy?

Both Myli and Neerim District Secondary College have their Child Safety policies publicly available on their respective websites.

You can access Myli’s Child Safety Policy, here: Child Safety Policy

You can access Neerim District Secondary College’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, here: Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy

  • What if I need help or support when the library is closed?

You can use our website (myli.org.au) to renew items, place holds and access online resources. Alternatively, you can contact our Myli Support Centre via support@myli.org.au or 1800 44 6954. For printing and public PC usage, our closest locations are the Drouin Library and the Warragul Library.

  • Any further questions?

If you have any additional questions, please contact our Support Team via support@myli.org.au or 1800 44 6954.
