Celebrate Seniors Festival at Myli this October
October is a lovely time to try something new, share a favourite pastime or simply enjoy good company. For Victorian Seniors Festival, we’re hosting free events across Myli libraries, with plenty of ways to join in.
Love music? Bring a favourite vinyl record to Waterline Library for an evening of listening and sharing songs. If you’d rather get moving, try chair yoga at Wonthaggi Library or Qi Gong at Pakenham Library. Both offer a gentle way to enjoy movement at your own pace.
There’s lots to explore for curious minds, too. Friends of Drouin Trees will visit Warragul Library to talk about Gippsland’s terrestrial orchids. At selected libraries, you can settle in with fellow book lovers to watch recorded BorrowBox author talks featuring writers such as Trent Dalton, Pip Williams and David Baldacci.
At Inverloch and Wonthaggi libraries, award-winning audiobook narrator Jenny Seedsman will share stories from her career, including her work on Sally Hepworth’s Mad Mabel. You’ll have a chance to ask her questions at the end of the session.
October is also History Month. Discover more about the Prom Coast with a volunteer from the Prom Country Historical Society at Foster Library, or join a genealogy talk at Warragul Library to explore your family history.
Whether you come along with family, bring a friend or visit on your own, we’d love to see you.
