Masks and The Good Side of the Mask by Rose Williams

Masks and The Good Side of the Mask by Rose Williams

MASKS

Masks. Don’t ask.
Now a necessity so make them an accessory.
Bling. Things.
A trimming of lace to frame your face.
Be bold. Add gold.
If you’re really game, embroider your name.
Painted lips. Fluro strips.
A moustache or a beard, something more weird.
Spots? Why not?
Wild animals, a bird. Nothing’s too absurd.
Bells, shells.
Footy colours a breeze though you may be teased.
Cheeky. Freaky.
Hold your head high and smile with your eyes.
Masks. Your task.
To wear them with pride till this virus has died.

THE GOOD SIDE OF THE MASK

You can forget about foundation, your lipstick and your blush.
You don’t need spot concealer, it doesn’t matter if you’re flushed.
Cos if your face is covered from your cheekbones to your chin
No-one can see your wrinkles so I consider that a win !
