Jane Gilmore in conversation: ‘Teaching Consent’ Online Event

March 9, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Overview
Join writer and interviewer Claire Halliday as she explores this important topic with Jane Gilmore.

Teaching Consent shares the stories of children, teens, teachers, and educators.

Jane’s writing and research blends memoir, expertise, hilarious anecdotes, and poignant stories from both teachers and students, to offer an insight into playgrounds and classrooms that is a must-read for any parent or carer.

Teaching Consent addresses the importance of education about sex, consent, respect, social media, pornography, bullying, sexuality, and gender diversity for both young and old. It also examines the pressure on teachers, families, and students to get it done right.

Consent educator, Jane Gilmore, launched the FixedIt campaign in 2014 as a response to the way the media reports on men’s violence against women. Her debut book, FixedIt, was published in 2019.

Teaching Consent is her second non-fiction book and is published by Body Safety Australia. Place a copy on hold here with your Myli membership.
