24/7 Library Membership

24/7 Library Membership

Love the library but can’t always make it during regular hours? Myli’s 24/7 Access service lets you visit our Foster, Mirboo North and Poowong libraries anytime, day or night.

Whether you’re an early riser, a night owl, or just need flexibility, 24/7 Access gives you the freedom to use the library when it works for you. Enjoy a quiet space to read, study, work or relax. Access computers, free Wi-Fi, and browse the shelves — all at your convenience.

How to Apply for 24/7 Access —

To get started, just complete the online application form for your branch and choose the membership that suits you—either an Individual Pass (for one adult) or a Family Pass (one adult plus their children under 18).

Your application will be reviewed by a Myli team member. If you’re eligible, we’ll get in touch to arrange your in-person induction. A one-off $30 administration fee applies and is payable at your induction session. Once you’ve completed the induction, you’ll receive your personal Access Fob, giving you entry to your selected library whenever it works for you.

If you need help completing the form, you’re welcome to call your library or visit us in person—we’re happy to help.

  • Locations

    24/7 Access is available at:

    • Foster Library – (03) 5682 1735
    • Mirboo North Library – (03) 5668 1528
    • Poowong Library – (03) 5659 2349
  • What is 24/7 Access?

Think of it like a 24/7 gym — but for your mind.

24/7 Access means you can use the library outside of normal staffed hours, any time of the day or night. You’ll scan in with your access pass and enjoy the library’s facilities whenever it suits you — whether it’s 6am before work, 9pm after dinner, or anywhere in between.

It’s designed to give you flexibility, especially if your schedule makes it tricky to visit during regular hours.

  • What to Expect After You Apply

After you submit the online form, a team member will review your application. If you’re eligible, we’ll contact you to book your in-person induction. A one-off $30 administration fee applies and is payable at your induction session. Once you’ve completed the induction, you’ll receive your personal Access Fob and can start using 24/7 Access.

We request that you bring two forms of ID to your induction—one must be valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence or passport), and the other must confirm your current address, like a utility bill or bank statement.

  • Choosing the Right Pass

You can apply for either an Individual Pass or a Family Pass:

    • Individual Pass

An Individual Pass is for one adult (18 years or older) who wants to access the library after hours. If you wish to attend the library with another adult, they will need their own access fob. Sharing your access fob or allowing others to use it is not permitted and will lead to immediate termination of your 24-hour access.

    • Family Pass

A Family Pass allows one adult to bring their children (under 18 years, named on the application) into the library. Each parent needs their own access fob due to insurance requirements. Access fob sharing is not allowed and will result in immediate termination of 24-hour access.

  • Safety and Community Guidelines

Your safety is important. Security systems are in place, and by using 24/7 Access, you agree to follow the conditions of entry. Full details will be provided during your induction.

    • Security Surveillance: All libraries offering 24/7 Access and Open Access are equipped with security cameras for the safety of everyone using the facility.

    • Induction Requirement: An induction session is mandatory before your Access Fob is activated. This ensures that all users are familiar with safety procedures and library expectations.

    • Emergency procedures are posted throughout the library.

    • Supervision of Minors: For Family Access members, children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while in the library.

    • Safe Use of Equipment: Be mindful of equipment like computers and printers when using them during off-hours. Keep your belongings secure, and notify library staff if any equipment is damaged or not working properly.

By following these safety guidelines, you can enjoy a safe and positive experience during your 24/7 or Open Access visits.
