Myli – My Community Library is supporting love your library in your language this March. This campaign aims to encourage library patrons from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) to participate by writing a message of love to their library in their preferred language during Cultural Diversity Week 11-21 March and Harmony Week 20-26 March 2023.
Postcards have been created by CAVAL, campaign sponsor. The postcards provide a space for a handwritten message. During the campaign, participating libraries are encouraging patrons to write a message to be displayed in libraries during the campaign. Throughout the campaign, postcard messages will be shared on social media channels with hashtag #loveyourlibrary.
At the end of the campaign, the completed postcards be collected and shared with the Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs, The Hon Colin Brooks, as part of Public Libraries Victoria’s ongoing campaign to build a coalition of support for libraries among Victorian politicians. The postcards will help raise awareness of the importance of libraries for Victoria’s multicultural communities.
The campaign will be promoted through March and April to advocate and promote library services and how libraries work with partners like CAVAL to support learning and literacy needs of CALD communities.
CAVAL is a trusted partner inspiring and driving innovation in the library community and focuses on collaboration, capability building and collection management.
