TAFE Gippsland Conference 2022

TAFE Gippsland Conference 2022

TAFE Gippsland held its annual staff day conference at Federation Uni on Friday 8 July 2022. This event provides an opportunity for over 300 team members from GippsTafe to come together for a day of learning and connection with keynote speakers, guest presenters and activities.

Myli’s reputation for creating community opportunities for connection and learning led to the conference director approaching our team to deliver Myli – In Real Life workshops on the day. The sessions allow participants to converse with someone they might not meet in their everyday life. Myli partnered with Latrobe Community Health Service to provide a guest speaker to attend the event.

As the day progressed, the workshops grew from 10 attendees to over 30 as staff at the conference began to hear about Jeremiah telling his story in the student lounge. Although shy at first, people soon started to ask many interesting questions about culture, how it feels to live regionally so far from familiar social norms and practices, and about gratitude for the abundance in our country. A wonderful vibe of connection occurred very quickly.

Myli Libraries also provided library bags and promotional material for the conference attendees. Each Myli branded bag contained information about the free services our libraries can provide for the community. Thank you to Michelle Nicholls and our Marketing team for organising the packing and delivery of the bags.
