San Remo Library

San Remo Library

With San Remo Library’s Open Access service, you can enjoy the library outside of staffed hours, everyday from 8am to 8pm. Whether you’re fitting in a study session, picking up your next weekend read, or just after some quiet time, Open Access gives you the flexibility to visit when it suits you.

How to Apply for Open Access —

To get started, just complete the online application form and choose the membership that suits you—either an Individual Pass (for one adult) or a Family Pass (one adult plus their children under 18).

Your application will be reviewed by a Myli team member. If you’re eligible, we’ll get in touch to arrange your in-person induction. A one-off $30 administration fee applies and is payable at your induction session. Once you’ve completed the induction, you’ll receive your personal Access Fob, giving you entry to your selected library.

If you need help completing the form, you’re welcome to call your library or visit us in person—we’re happy to help.

  • What is Open Access?

Open Access gives you flexible access to library services outside of normal staffed hours. After completing your induction, you’ll receive an Access Fob, which lets you enter the library whenever it suits you.

It’s like having your own personal library time, whether it’s early morning, late night, or during the weekend. Use the library’s study areas, browse the shelves, and connect to Wi-Fi at your convenience.

  • Who can apply for Open Access?

To apply for an Open Access Membership, you must be a Myli member and you must be 18 years or older. We offer an Individual Pass or a Family Pass.

  • What to Expect After You Apply

After you submit the online form, a team member will review your application. If you’re eligible, we’ll contact you to book your in-person induction. A one-off $30 administration fee applies and is payable at your induction session. Once you’ve completed the induction, you’ll receive your personal Access Fob and can start using Open Access.

We request that you bring two forms of ID to your induction—one must be valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence or passport), and the other must confirm your current address, like a utility bill or bank statement.

  • Choosing the Right Pass

You can apply for either an Individual Pass or a Family Pass:

    • Individual Pass

An Individual Pass is for one adult (18 years or older) who wants to access the library after hours. If you wish to attend the library with another adult, they will need their own access fob. Sharing your access fob or allowing others to use it is not permitted and will lead to immediate termination of your Open Access.

    • Family Pass

Family Pass allows one adult to bring their children (under 18 years, named on the application) into the library. Each parent needs their own access fob due to insurance requirements. Access fob sharing is not allowed and will result in immediate termination of your Open Access.

  • Safety and Community Guidelines

Your safety is our priority. While enjoying Open Access, we ask that all members adhere to the following safety guidelines:

    • Security Surveillance: All libraries offering 24/7 Access and Open Access are equipped with security cameras for the safety of everyone using the facility.
    • Induction Requirement: An induction session is mandatory before your Access Fob is activated. This ensures that all users are familiar with safety procedures and library expectations
    • Emergency procedures are posted throughout the library.
    • Supervision of Minors: For Family Access members, children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while in the library.
    • Safe Use of Equipment: Be mindful of equipment like computers and printers when using them during off-hours. Keep your belongings secure, and notify library staff if any equipment is damaged or not working properly.

By following these safety guidelines, you can enjoy a safe and positive experience during your Open Access visits.
