Chatty Cafe sessions at Korumburra Library
Myli Korumburra hosted their final Chatty Café session for 2022 on Monday 5 December. Patrons enjoyed chatting over a cuppa and delicious afternoon tea supplied by Kelly’s Bakery. Local photographer Lauren Murphy was on hand to snap some lovely photos of staff and patrons during the event.
We were proud to partner with South Gippsland Shire and Local Men Local Communities project for the Chatty Café sessions.
Chatty Café aims to create a space for people to talk, whether it is for five minutes or an hour of good friendly conversation. The ‘Have a Chat’ tables can increase safe and respectful social connections within a community and possibly reduce loneliness along the way.
The December Chatty Café session was part of the Libraries for Health and Wellbeing campaign, a state-wide advocacy campaign by Public Libraries Victoria and State Library Victoria. The initiative aims to showcase library people, spaces and programs to create stronger and healthier Victorian communities.
