Myli – My Community Library is thrilled to announce a series of Digital Skills events designed for seniors in our community. These engaging workshops and one-on-one sessions aim to empower older adults with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world effectively. A range of workshops and drop in sessions will be held in Pakenham, Emerald, Warragul, Drouin, Leongatha, Mirboo North, Foster, Inverloch, Wonthaggi, San Remo, and Grantville. Sessions will also be held at the new library branches in Korumburra and Phillip Island.
Digital Skills Workshops: Our interactive workshops, led by experienced facilitators, will cover a wide range of topics, including Introduction to iPads and Email, Emergency Management and Health, Video Calling, Brainfit Activities, Online Shopping, and Staying Safe Online. These small group sessions offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions and get hands-on experience with various digital devices.
One-on-One Sessions: Book a one-on-one session with a friendly member of the Myli team to receive personalised guidance. Our team is here to assist with using eLibrary resources, such as e-books, e-audiobooks, digital magazines, and newspapers, navigating email and social media, and answering questions about smartphones, tablets, and basic computer use. We’re dedicated to helping seniors build confidence in their digital skills.
Drop In with Your Device Sessions: Have a tech question or need assistance with your device? Drop by the library during specified times, and our staff will provide on-the-spot support for your digital or tech issues. No registration is required, although wait times may apply during busy periods.
In today’s fast-paced digital age, technology has become an integral part of our lives. Whether it’s staying connected with loved ones, accessing crucial information, or exploring new gadgets, the Digital Skills events at Myli Library are here to bridge the digital divide for seniors. These sessions will take place at Myli library branches throughout October, November, and December.
