As we say farewell to our wonderful Friends of the Leongatha Library, we want to thank them for their incredible dedication and more than 34 years of support for our library.
The Friends’ final gift to the library was a much-appreciated upgrade to the staffroom, including a new couch, side tables handmade by the local Men’s Shed, a dining setting, and privacy blinds. Although the group has formally concluded, several members still drop in for a chat, a cuppa, and to continue supporting the library as patrons, which the team greatly enjoys.

Since the early 1990s, your group has been a constant source of support, enthusiasm, and generosity. Through fundraising, advocacy, and countless volunteer hours, you have helped make the library a welcoming and vibrant place for everyone.
Your commitment has enriched our programs, expanded our collections, and created opportunities for connection and learning that have touched the lives of so many people. The care and friendship you’ve shown to library staff and visitors alike have left a lasting legacy that will continue to be felt well into the future.
While we are saddened to see the Friends disband, we want you to know how deeply we appreciate your decades of service and dedication. You have been an integral part of the library’s story, and we are so thankful for your partnership, your passion, and your belief in the power of libraries to bring people together.
