Libraries are often considered as peaceful places. But what happens when the lights go out and the doors are locked? Well, during our Soft Toy Sleepover, the toys came out to play!
During the April school holidays, children brought their favourite stuffed animals to enjoy a special storytime and craft session. The toys were tucked into bed and the children went home, but little did they know that their toys were about to have the time of their lives!
As the library closed and the lights went out, the soft toys started stir. Cheeky teddies and playful dolls came to life and explored the shelves, climbing up and down with glee. They gathered around the books and started to read, telling each other stories of adventure and mystery.
Some toys choose to play games, like hide-and-seek, while others prefered to dance and sing. As the night wore on, the toys started to get tired. They yawned, stretched, and settled down, tucking themselves into cozy nooks and crannies. They whispered goodnight to each other and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of their adventures.
The following morning, the children returned to the library to find their beloved toys safe and sound, but with a special surprise waiting for them. Each child received a personalised photo book featuring pictures of their toy’s overnight adventures, playing games, reading books, and having fun.
The Soft Toy Sleepover was a fun and creative event for children and their toys, and a great way to discover all of the exciting adventures you can have at the library! So next time you visit your local library, keep an eye out for those cheeky teddies and mischievous dolls. You never know what adventures they might be having when the lights go out!
