Today, Mirboo North library welcomed Minister Shaun Leane, South Gippsland Shire Council representatives including Mayor Cr Mohya Davies, Deputy Mayor Annemarie McCabe (and Myli Board Chair) along with Councillors and the Myli staff and community to join in officially celebrating the recent renovations at Mirboo North library.
The library’s interior has been upgraded with a fresh new look, including new carpet, shelving and a circulation desk. Patrons can enjoy a comfortable borrowing experience with the addition of new furniture and a Wi-Fi lounge where tea and coffee facilities are also available. Part of the upgrade includes preparing the library for the introduction of 24-hour access which will be available very soon.
Bronts Commercial Interiors (from Maffra) completed the renovations and custom-built joinery in a very short timeframe and to a high-quality standard.
The Mirboo Northern library renovations have been supported by funding contributions of $67,000 from the Victorian State Government Living Libraries Infrastructure Program and $5000 from the Friends of the Mirboo North Library towards the renovations and purchase of the new floor rug in the children’s area.
