Korumburra Library Service Update

Korumburra Library is on the move. 

We are thrilled to announce that Korumburra Library is on the move, but don’t worry, we’re not going far! As we prepare for the opening of the Korumburra Community Hub, we have partnered with Milpara Community House to continue to provide library services for the community. 

Services including Click and Collect, StoryTime and Baby Rhyme Time will continue at Milpara Community House.

Public computers and printing can be accessed at Milpara Community House during school terms.  

From 21 June, Click and Collect services will be available from Milpara Community House:

  • Wednesday 9.30am – 1.30pm
  • Thursday 9.30am – 1.30pm
  • Fridays 9.30am – 1.30pm  

We’ll hold our regular Early Years sessions every Monday morning with a Myli librarian!

  • StoryTime – Monday 10.30am 
  • Baby Rhyme Time Monday 11.30am.  

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new home at the Korumburra Community Hub soon! Together, we are building a vibrant and inclusive space for learning, exploration, and connection.

  • Where is Milpara Community House located?

    21 Shellcot Road, Korumburra, 3950. Milpara Community House is open to the community during school terms.  

    Monday – 9.30am – 4pm
    Tuesday – 9.30am – 3pm
    Wednesday – 9.30am – 4pm
    Thursday – 9.30am – 4pm
    Friday – 9.30am – 4pm

    • Myli library services are only available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am – 1.30pm
    • Please note that Myli Click and Collect service will continue to operate during school holidays. 
  • Important Dates -

    Last day at our current location: Saturday June 10th  

    Temporary Interruption of Services: Monday June 12th June to Tuesday June 20th  

    While we’re busy making preparations, there will be a brief pause in library services.  

    Early Years Sessions resume at Milpara Community House: From Monday 19th June. 

    We’ll hold our regular Early Years sessions every Monday morning with a Myli librarian! StoryTime 10.30am and Baby Rhyme Time 11.30am.  

    Click and Collect Services at Milpara Community House: Start from Wednesday June 21st.  

    Click and Collect services will be available Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays 9.30am – 1.30pm 

     

  • What is Click and Collect?

    Patrons can collect items that have been placed on hold. Holds can be placed via your online account on our website or app, or by phoning our team at Leongatha Library on 56 62 4829. Wait for an email or SMS notification letting you know that your items are ready to be picked up. 

    If you require assistance with placing holds or choosing books, please call our friendly team at Leongatha Library on 56 62 4829. We love choosing books for patrons and will be happy to assist you.  

  • When will I need to return my books? 

    All loans from Korumburra Library that are checked out or currently on loan on 10 June 10 2023 do not need to be returned until 30 September 2023*. If you wish to return your books before that time, please return them to our Click and Collect location at Milpara Community House during opening hours or another Myli library branch. 

    *Please note that you may still see a due date on your library account, however, we’re encouraging you to keep loans until the Korumburra Community Hub opens. 

  • Can I browse for books?

    Browsing is not available at the Milpara Community House Click and Collect point. Holds collection is available with a Myli team member on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays 9.30am – 1.30pm. Milpara Community House staff cannot assist with holds collectionYou are welcome to visit our other branches to browse and borrow.

  • Can I redirect my holds to a different library to pick up?

    Yes, call our Leongatha Library Team via 03 5662 4829 and we can redirect your holds to a different Myli library branch.  

  • I can’t make it to Click & Collect point. How can I get books?

    You are welcome to visit our other branches to browse and borrow, or we can offer a Home Delivery box to be sent via Australia Post. For more information about Home Delivery, please click here 

  • How do I get in touch if I have questions about my account?

    Our team at Leongatha Library will be happy to take your call! Please phone them on 03 5662 4829. Alternatively, you can chat with a team member via Live Chat on our website Mon – Friday 9am – 5pm or call our Support Centre on 1800 44 6954.  

  • When will the new library be open?

    We don’t have an exact date yet. Rest assured that we will announce the opening of the Korumburra Community Hub on our website, Facebook page and in our monthly newsletter. You can sign up for Myli’s Connect, Belong, Learn monthly newsletter here.

  • Where will I go for printing?

    Milpara Community House offers print and copy services and is open Monday to Friday during school terms. Charges apply. Please note that printing services will not be available during the school holidays (26 June – 9 July).

    Printing services can be accessed at other Myli libraries including Leongatha, Foster, Mirboo North and Poowong.

  • Where can I go if I need to use a computer or require help with my device?

    Milpara Community House offer computers for use Monday to Friday during school terms (see below for opening times). We strongly advise calling ahead to 03 5655 2524 for computer availability. Milpara Community House can offer assistance with tech devices.  Please note public computer use and device assistance will not be available while Milpara is closed during the school holidays (26 June- 9 July).

  • What happens to Baby Rhyme Time & Story Time?

    We will still hold our Early Years programs every Monday morning at Milpara Community House starting on Monday 19 June. Join us for StoryTime at 10.30am and Baby Rhyme Time at 11.30am. Sessions will run at Milpara Community House until we move to our library premises.  

  • What is happening with the Chatty Café?

    The Chatty Café will be on hold until we move into the new library premises. If you are looking for other library programs in the South Gippsland area, visit our Eventbrite page to find out what’s on.  

  • How can I help?

    We’re encouraging patrons to help us with the move by borrowing as many books as possible before we close our current location! Items will be extended until 30 September 2023.  

    We’d also love you to make sure that your contact details are up to date so we can contact you with news about the Korumburra Community Hub! Please ensure that we have an up-to-date email and/or mobile phone number listed on your account. You can update these details via your online account or give our Leongatha Library team a call on 03 5662 4829.
